Riding holidays in the heart of the Pyrenees

RIDING HOLIDAYS IN THE HEART OF THE PYRENEES

A week to discover  Andorra on horseback together with one day’s relaxation at a wellness centre.

All the horses are adapted to the narrow passages and steep descents.  You will be surprised at the sure-footedness of our horses which like goats go up and down these trails.

DAY ONE (Monday)

For the first day your circuit will be relatively easy and not too long with the objective of you getting to know your horse and the mountains.

There will be an excursion of 2 hours in the morning in the Ordino parish.  There will be a break for lunch in a pleasant restaurant in the Ordino valley; after lunch it’s back on your horse for another 2 hours through the La Massana valley via the old foot path “Burons d’Anyos”.

DAY TWO (Tuesday)

Today we have a change of mountain side and go and discover at 2400m the  horse trails which criss-cross the ski station of the winter sports resort of Pal.

After a long hack in the morning there will be lunch in café restaurant in the base station

Building; the afternoon will be a shorter return route back to Aldosa.

DAY THREE (Wednesday)

A day’s break to rest and discover shopping in the capital Andorra la Vella and relax at the Caldea  Spa Wellness Centre.  You will be escorted to Caldea and will have 3 hours of  thermal water treatment  with a refreshment included.  Caldea is the largest Spa Wellness Centre in Europe.  Here you can enjoy the different thermal swimming pools, saunas, Turkish baths etc., and we will collect you at the end of your session.  For more information visit www.caldea.com

DAY FOUR (Thursday)

We’re off down the “Camí del ferro” – the old iron miners track which takes us to an old iron ore mine.  Along the trail you’ll find  forged iron statues illustrating the origins  of the iron from it’s  extraction through to it’s forging and final use.  At around 14.30 there will be lunch at a restaurant in El Serrat and then a ride back to the Aldosa Riding Centre.

DAY FIVE (Friday)

A varied trail of forest bridal path and total off track our destination is the Font de Mallol (Mallol Spring) where an open air bar-b-q lunch is waiting for us at 2000 metres.  Incredible views across the valley looking above  Sispony to Pal ski station which was our Tuesday’s destination!  Our return trip is down the other side of the mountain into the Ordino valley.  Friday night is partynight! Music and dancing at the Residencia d’Aldosa until the early hours and a chance to meet some of the regular riders at the Aldosa Riding Centre.
